New 2014 Kia Soul
The new 2014 Kia Soul was presented at the 2013 New York Auto Show. Soul classic design is still recognizable, although it feels mexclado with more than a nod Trackster concept that was unveiled last year. Riding on a new chassis is stiffer, longer and wider, the all-new 2014 Soul has grown without losing its advantage, allowing more cargo and passengers and a significant reduction in NVH.
The 2014 Kia Soul Base is powered by a gasoline direct injection (GDI) to 130 hp (at 6,300 rpm) 1.6-liter all-aluminum four-cylinder DOHC engine. The engine produces 118 pounds-feet of torque at 4,850 GAMMA rpm. Plus and Exclaim models enjoy a more powerful 2.0-liter Power nplanta NU. For 2014 Soul, the engine is updated with GDI technology.
Power is estimated at 164hp at 6,200 rpm and 151 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. Both engines have been tuned to provide more low-end torque (nine per cent more torque at 1,500 rpm in the 2.0-liter, five percent more than 1.6 liters) for an enhanced driving experience around town . The 1.6 liter engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission or, optionally, with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Kia Soul model can be equipped with a transmission while the Exclaim is available exclusively with a six-speed automatic transmission.
It improved torque and have made significant improvements in the suspension of the 2014 Kia Soul, a fellow agile congested urban environments. Three trim levels will be available exclusive to the U.S. market, 2014 Soul Base, Plus and Exclaim. Sales are expected to begin in the third quarter of this year, prices will be announced closer to the launch date of the 2014 Kia Soul.
