Rumormill Nissan GT R ‘Egotist’ coming soon

Don’t call it the Spec M. According to  Autocar , the suits at Nissan have decided to sail a new luxury version of the mighty GT-R under the Egoist banner. The car will supposedly wear a completely new front fascia, and will debut alongside the facelifted version of the GT-R later this year. Other changes include a pair of special Recaro thrones, massive front brakes and unique 10-spoke wheels. All of that kit will set you back a lofty $166,740 at current conversion rates, but so far, it’s unclear whether the Egoist will make its way to the States or whether it will be a JDM-only (and possibly Euro-only) piece. Autocar  is also serving up a few details on the plain Jane 2011 GT-R. If the report has hit its mark, we can look forward to a significant weight reduction along with a few mechanical tweaks that should up the horsepower. Another presentation took place at the EICMA and this time its the Ducati 1199 Panigale R. Like with all the Panigales it has ABS, ride-by-wire throttle control, traction control, engine braking control and features all the amenities on the “S” spec model, like the DDA+ data logging system.   This special version comes with a race exhaust system and ECU that increases the power to a pretty wild 201bhp. It also comes with titanium con-rods, a lightened flywheel, DLC-coated rocker-arms, a four-point adjustable swingarm pivot-point, and a 500 rpm rev boost. With only 189kg (416lbs) it is the lightest superbike in Bologna’s fleet. The price on the contrary will be quite high, with a price tag of $29.995 (€23.539) in the USA. Volkswagen has releases the Golf R pricing for U.S. market. The three-door Golf R comes with a sticker price of $33,990 and a solid set of equipment including 18-inch wheels. The Sunroof and Navigation models start at $35,490 for the three-door hatch and $36,090 for the five-door. 2012 Golf R is powered by 2.0 liter TSI engine which develops 256 hp (191 kW). If compare to the euro-spec 266 hp (199kW) version the U.S.-spec version has slightly less output. In terms of efficiency, the U.S.-spec version offers an EPA estimated fuel economy of 18 mpg city and 23 mpg highway. Other key stats: 18-inch by 7.5-inch alloy wheels wear 225/40 all-season tires in standard trim; all four wheels are driven through a 4Motion system with a Haldex center differential; suspension is strut-type up front and multi-link in the rear; and three-channel ABS handles stopping through 13.6-inch front and 12.2-inch rear vented disc brakes.
